The Agriculture and Food Management Institute (AFMI) has been established in 2008 by Maharaja Education Trust MET), Mysore, Karnataka, with a global perspective of assisting all the stakeholders of the Agri-Food Business for effective and efficient management of their concern.

Maharaja Education Trust (MET), Mysore, is a charitable trust established under the Karnataka Public Trust Act. The trust functions under the able guidance of its Founder members who all are from academic profession and well familiar with value of education and learning. Today MET has various institutions and colleges related with engineering and management, catering more than 10,000 students in different campuses in and around Mysore. AFMI is one of the premier institutes established by MET.

AFMI is the first and foremost Agri Food Management Institute in India to cater ‘Pre farm to Post fork’ of the industry with integrated approach by providing various services like Education, Consultancy, Training, Research, Human Resource Solution and Integrated Information.

For Educational Service, AFMI offers Two Years Full Time AICTE Approved Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture & Food Business Management- PGDM (AFB) which is equivalent to MBA. It was conceived as a not for profit organization.

With increased globalization, AFMI sees few important trends which will influence its direction for its above mentioned services in the coming years:

Today AFMI is a B-School with a difference – a B-School with courses approved by AICTE that works continuously to procreate dynamic student managers who can easily adapt to the challenging Industrial environment. AFMI has produced highly successful managers who are managing critical and important responsibilities in important and prestigious companies not only in India but abroad also. This, we ensure, not only through a comprehensive course curriculum taught by eminent faculties but also through practical exposure to the industry.

The campus spread over 18 acres is located in the proximity of Mysore city and provides a conducive atmosphere for learning. The institute has the fully Wi-Fi enabled campus with abundant full-time / visiting faculties , an in-campus hostel , well-stocked libraries, a cafeteria, messes, a grooming centre , thereby providing a stimulating and enabling environment.
